VERO BEACH — Melissa Shine is one of 10 star dancers in this season’s 4th Annual Dancing with Vero’s Stars, benefiting the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, to be held March 10 at The Waxlax Center at Saint Edward’s School in Vero Beach.
Shine is also a member of the committee organizing the Top Chef Challenge, the premier annual food event in Vero Beach benefiting the Homeless Family Center.
Fourteen of Indian River County’s most talented and creative chefs will vie for the title of Vero’s Top Chef at the Qualifying Event on Jan. 30 at the Vero Beach Elks Lodge #1774 and at the Challenge Finale on Feb. 27 at the Club of Pointe West.
HFC is the only emergency and transitional shelter for families on the Treasure Coast that serves families in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. In 2010-2011, HFC served 64 families, comprising of 64 adults and 106 children.
